An estimated 70,000 people gathered in Valletta to welcome the start of 2026, making it one of the largest New Year’s Eve celebrations ever held in the capital.Crowds filled St George’s Square, Triton Square, Valletta’s main streets, and several vantage points along the Grand Harbour, where a spectacular 25 minute fireworks display lit up the sky at midnight.The celebrations in St George’s Square featured live performances by some of Malta’s most popular artists, including Glen Vella, Aidan, Drakard, Denise, Gaia, Karin Duff, Keith Zammit Mintoff, Klinsmann and Miriana Conte.
