(Express photo enhanced by AI)A 21-year-old man in Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru district was allegedly stabbed to death Wednesday for uploading a birthday wish post on Instagram and WhatsApp using the photos of his former girlfriend, whose wedding was scheduled with another man. The police have arrested the woman’s brother, fiancé and two others in the case.The deceased was identified as Manjunath, a resident of the Tarikere taluk in the Chikkamagaluru district. The accused are the woman’s brother Kiran, her fiancé Venu, Appu and Manu, all residents of the Tarikere town.The police said Kiran called Manjunath over the phone to meet him near an underpass road Wednesday night. According to the FIR, around 7.45 pm, Venu confronted Manjunath for wishing her on social media using her photos and said that if he wanted to marry her, he could approach the family members. Manjunath allegedly told him that he would not marry her.Kiran allegedly attacked Manjunath with a knife for using his sister’s photo and stabbed him multiple times before leaving the place. Manjunath was taken to the Tarikere government hospital and later to Shivamogga for treatment.
