By: Express News ServiceShimla | Updated: January 1, 2026 09:23 PM IST 2 min readSuperintendent of Police Madan Lal Kaushal said that an FIR has been registered at Kullu police station and the exact cause of the accident is being investigated.Four people including three women and one driver died in a road accident on the National Highway near Bhootnath bridge in Kullu district, officials said on Thursday.The four friends, including three women, had come to Kasol to celebrate New Year’s Eve and the birthday of Satpal, a local tattoo artist. They were returning to Kullu when their speeding vehicle hit a roadside parapet and rammed into a parked truck around 2.40 am.The impact was so severe that the vehicle was completely mangled, killing three of the occupants, including Satpal, on the spot, officials said. One of the victims, who was alive when she was taken to the local hospital, succumbed to her injuries.The victims were identified as — car driver Satpal (25) of Kullu, Ankita (20) of Udaipur village in Lahaul and Spiti district, Kashish (20) of subtehsil Jari in Kullu, and Ratanjali alias Ruchi (20) of Bhuntar in Kullu.
