The bus that operates on route no. 606, between Bhandup station and Nardas Nagar, was taking a turn on the congested Station Road outside the Bhandup railway station when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it ran over people who were standing in a queue ahead. A lamppost was also damaged.Videos later surfaced showed people pushing the bus to one side to rescue those trapped underneath.Saimini Mudaliar, who was standing near the spot, said, “I saw the bus go at high speed and run over 12-15 people. After the bus was tilted to one side by those present, body parts were found below.”Twelve persons who were seriously injured were rushed to MT Agarwal Hospital in Mulund and Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar.
