Moyes: Forest win among Everton's best resultsShareDavid Moyes lavished praise on his depleted Everton side as they ended a three-match winless streak with a 2-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.David Moyes hailed his much-changed Everton side and declared their 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest “one of the better results’’ since he returned to the club as manager.Everton were already suffering from the absences of Jarrad Branthwaite and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but their squad was depleted further after Carlos Alcaraz and Michael Keane were ruled out for Tuesday's game at the City Ground.Nevertheless, Moyes’ side snapped a three-match winless streak with goals from James Garner and Thierno Barry moving them up to eighth in the Premier League. The Scot believes their display was a marked improvement on how they performed at Burnley on Saturday, in a goalless draw, saying it was one of their most impressive results of the calendar year, given the trying circumstances.“I think [it’s] one of the better results we've had since I've come into the job because of how depleted we are,” said Moyes to BBC Sport.“We didn't have enough senior players on the bench to make too many changes.“We defended well and took our moments when we got them. We didn't play particularly well against Burnley, but today we did.”Moyes lauded the performance of Garner, who has now been involved in five goals this season, already surpassing his best league tally of three, achieved two campaigns ago."He was fantastic tonight, he really was,” said Moyes. “Coming back to his old club, I thought he played really well... but he has for a while.“He's playing so well for us and he's taken on a bit more responsibility, a bit more of the leadership, so he's really matured."Everton welcomed Jack Grealish back from the bench after he missed the draw with Burnley, and Moyes hopes other absentees will be able to return soon.He said: "We need our main players back to give us the best chance of pushing on, but all credit to our lads."Sean Dyche, meanwhile, conceded that Forest had been beaten by “a great away performance”, as he fell to a second defeat to his former employers in less than a month. He told BBC Sport: "Credit to them, they defended really well, it was a great away performance.“They're an experienced group, I know them well and they dealt with everything.“There are still a lot of good things here, but I think it was a naive performance compared to that of the Everton group.”Forest have now lost their last three matches and are only four points clear of the relegation zone in 17th, but Dyche has called for calm, with the season only at the halfway point.“The story changes quickly,” he said. “We have to stay consistent and stay in the bandwidth between being not too high and not too low.“Every game is a big week, I never get involved with all of that. We have to win these games, and certainly not lose them."Moyes: Forest win among Everton's best resultsDavid Moyes lavished praise on his depleted Everton side as they ended a three-match winless streak with a 2-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.David Moyes hailed his much-changed Everton side and declared their 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest “one of the better results’’ since he returned to the club as manager.Everton were already suffering from the absences of Jarrad Branthwaite and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but their squad was depleted further after Carlos Alcaraz and Michael Keane were ruled out for Tuesday's game at the City Ground.Nevertheless, Moyes’ side snapped a three-match winless streak with goals from James Garner and Thierno Barry moving them up to eighth in the Premier League.
