However, as the focus of her husband Sunil and the guests was on their drinks, she final;ly had to scold them to get them to the dining table.Ranjeet recalled it was on his second day in Mumbai when he found himself at Sunil Dutt’s house. The veteran actor even encountered his wife, late Nargis Dutt as she served dinner for everyone. In a recent interview, he recalled drinking late into the night with Sunil Dutt and his friends. Ranjeet revealed that Sunil Dutt got scolded by Nargis for drinking and getting the food heated again and again. During a conversation with Alpha Neon Studioz, he expressed feeling impressed by the late actress’ gesture to cook and serve her guests.Talking about his second day in the city of dreams, Mumbai, he recalled going to Sunil Dutt’s house and shared, “We went to his house and saw Mother India. His house had dim, romantic mode lighting. A few of Dutt sahab’s friends were also there. Mrs Dutt (Nargis Dutt, Sunil Dutt’s wife) used to make a dish on her own, called Matka Gosht. She used to cook mutton in an earthen pot, she had some recipe. So, it was for 7-8 of Dutt sahab’s friends. The servant came once to tell that the food has been served.”The veteran actor further added, “He told him, ‘We will eat later, let Ronnie have 1-2 more drinks, go heat it up again’. So, time passed and it was already 1:30-2:00 am, food had already been re-heated thrice. Then, a thin voice came from behind, we couldn’t see (her) due to the dim light. She said, ‘Dutt sahab’, he stood up, and we all also stood up. Do it fast, we have heated up the food so many times’. We all went to the dining table with our glasses. I didn’t have any excitement that these are big people, treated them normally. Dutt sahab mixed up the food, it had such a good smell, everyone started praising it,” he said.The situation left Ranjeet impressed as the popular actress was awake till late to attend to her husband’s guests properly. “I was extremely impressed – she is such a big heroine and is awake till 2 am at night to serve the guests. Any servant could have done the same, so I was really impressed. I told him that I am a vegetarian and I can’t eat it. He said that Mrs Dutt has made it, please eat. She then asked him to not force me and got dal from the kitchen for me instead,” he concluded.Story continues below this adSunil Dutt and Nargis tied the knot in 1958, after meeting on the sets of Mother India. They were blessed with three children – son Sanjay Dutt, and daughters Namrata and Priya Dutt.
