As per the official release, the MT-5 tunnel to both sides was carried out and finished in one and a half years by means of a drill and blast method that allowed real-time monitoring of the ground conditions. The supporting systems, such as shotcreting, rock bolting and lattice girders, were put into place according to the actual conditions of the site.
