‘I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart’: Trump ignoring doctor’s advice on aspirin, craves ‘nice, thin blood’

Wait 5 sec.

Donald Trump: president, real estate tycoon, casino proprietor, reality TV host, best-selling author, steak vendor, vodka hawker, and now… amateur cardiologist?  Yup, it seems doctors are concerned about Trump’s ticker and have told him he should be taking aspirin each day to thin out his blood. This is common advice for anyone doctors consider at high risk of a heart attack, and it’s safe to say the 79-year-old cheeseburger-guzzling, overweight, doesn’t-believe-in-exercise Trump fits that description. However, doctors generally recommend taking a single aspirin each day to thin the blood and prevent clots. Trump seems to have partially taken that advice on board, but figured if one aspirin is good for you, many of them at once must be even better! This was revealed in a Wall Street Journal interview apparently designed to dispel rumors of Trump’s failing health. It’s done precisely the opposite, with many alarmed at Trump’s comment that: Trump admits to taking more aspirin than his docs recommend: “They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart. I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?”What could possibly go wrong! I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?” Tossing aspirin back like candy As per the interview, Trump consumes a “large dose” of aspirin every single day, which is causing him significant health problems and now he bruises very easily. Doctors have told him to cut down, but he says, “I’m a little superstitious” and refuses to follow their advice. President Trump takes 325 mg aspirin/day. The randomized trials tested 75-81 mg/day. His doctors recommended low-dose aspirin for heart event prevention. That recommendation is ill-founded based upon best evidence in older individuals.https://t.co/nk8TlJtcd8… pic.twitter.com/1yUVMXJXua— Eric Topol (@EricTopol) January 1, 2026 As such, Trump may be suffering from “gradual aspirin poisoning“, a condition that develops in people who take a higher-than-normal dose of aspirin over an extended period. Possible symptoms are nausea, abdominal pain, tinnitus, dizziness, confusion, rapid heartbeat, and even delirium and vivid hallucinations. Another noted consequence is that this level of aspirin consumption in a man fast approaching his 80th birthday causes tiredness and weakness due to anemia. In the very same interview, Trump dismisses the images and footage of him snoozing through important Oval Office meetings by saying he’s merely been caught mid-blink. So, it seems at least possible that these side effects are rapidly catching up with him. But, apparently, Trump knows better than his doctors how much aspirin he needs every day. And it’s his body, so as far as we’re concerned, he can shovel as many pills into his mouth as he likes.
