An accident along the Success Public Road, East Coast Demerara, on Thursday morning has left the Annandale Secondary School community in mourning after one of its students, 15-year-old Navindra Mahes, lost his life.According to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the incident occurred at around 07:30 hrs and involved motor car PAB 214, driven by a woman Police Corporal. Reports indicate that the teen was attempting to cross the road on the pedestrian crossing when he was struck and flung into the air.Navindra was immediately rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), but despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.Police ranks have since been stationed at the hospital to render support to the grieving family.
