Former OPM official Neville Gafà hit out at PL president Alex Sciberras, claiming that he “believes in political dynasties”.It started when women’s rights activist Lara Dimitrjievic, who is also Sciberras’ sister, criticised Ricky Caruana’s recent comments about women and called out TVM for giving him a prime time slot for his new debate show.Gafà accused Dimitrjievic of hypocrisy, questioning why she didn’t stand up for PL MP Rosianne Cutajar when her private chats were published during her pregnancy. He also suggested that Dimitrjievic was being pushed by the same “hidden hand” that has been working against him.Sciberras responded, telling Gafà that if he wants to insult his sister then he should insult him too.And Gafà promptly did so.“Alex Sciberras’ desperate comment didn’t go down well at all among PL supporters, with many telling him that she isn’t immune from criticism just because she’s his sister,” he said.“Politics isn’t a dynasty, and being president of a party doesn’t make you greater than the party itself or immune from criticism and scrutiny.”“His reaction is of someone who believes in dynasties. You aren’t the PL and the PL isn’t yours. By any chance, do you want to turn the PL into the Alex Sciberras party? If so, us Labourites won’t let you. This is the party of workers, not elitists.”Cover photo: Right: Alex Sciberras•
