Ryan Gravenberch will be back in the squad for Liverpool’s clash with Aston Villa, but Arne Slot had a less positive update on Alexander Isak and Curtis Jones.Gravenberch has been absent since picking up an ankle injury in the 2-1 defeat to Man United, missing the last three fixtures. But the Dutchman has since returned to training and is therefore eligible for the visit of Villa on Saturday night, which is a major boost for Liverpool.Speaking in his pre-match press conference however, Slot said he was “99.9 percent sure” both Isak and Jones will not be involved. “Ryan trained with us yesterday, the other two didn’t yet,” he revealed.“As I said many times, in the end phase of the injury things can slow down a bit or things can go faster. Let’s wait and see where they are.“Ryan trained with us first time yesterday and will train with us today. Then we’re going to make the call if he is able to start, yes or no.“The other two are probably 99.9 percent sure not in the squad for Saturday.”Liverpool will also be without Alisson as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury, but the Brazilian shared an encouraging update earlier in the week after returning to outdoor work at the AXA Training Centre.Jeremie Frimpong is also sidelined with a hamstring issue – his second of the season – with the right-back now not expected back until early December.Giovanni Leoni‘s season is already over after tearing his ACL, while Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic are long-term absentees with serious hamstring injuries; Bajcetic will, however, return in the near future.
