The two-day capacity building workshop on Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship for education officers in Telangana concluded on Friday at Vardhaman College of Engineering.The sessions were attended by 91 educators — DEOs, DSOs, and faculty of DIET colleges from the State. The workshop was organised as part of the national mission to embed innovation and entrepreneurship in school education.According to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) chairman T.G. Sitharam, who virtually inaugurated the national bootcamp, education officers are the change agents who will take the movement of design and innovation to schools.Organised under the Ministry of Education’s innovation cell (MIC) in collaboration with AICTE, Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), NCERT, School Innovation Council, PM SHRI Schools, and the Wadhwani Foundation, the training involved 1,500 education officers in three phases across the country.Vardhaman College was chosen as Telangana’s nodal centre for the AICTE IDE bootcamp.The workshop featured innovation, problem-solving and design thinking through live case studies and interactive visits. The participating education officers explored the institute’s incubation centre and the centre for research and innovation foundation, where student innovators exhibited their prototypes such as a sensor-based walking stick for the visually impaired, a solar-powered RO system and an automatic waste segregator.Published - November 01, 2025 06:59 pm IST
