Former Nepal speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been arrested. He is accused of involvement in gold smuggling. The arrest occurred at his residence. The case relates to gold pieces valued at Nepalese Rs 85.52 million. This gold was stored at Tribhuvan International Airport three years ago. Mahara allegedly assisted criminal gangs and airport officials in selling the gold.
