Hassan Deputy Commissioner K.S. Lathakumari has suspended four officials of the Revenue Department on charges of dereliction of duty.The suspended officials are Santosh Ambigera, Village Administrative Officer (VAO) of Rajana Sirihyur in Belur taluk; Shiraj Kachur, VAO of Adaguru in Belur taluk; Yoganand, Revenue Inspector (RI) of Halekote hobli in Holenarasipur taluk; and Govindaraj, RI of K. Hoskote in Alur taluk.The officials were deputed to the gold-card scanning centre at the temple. They reportedly did not tear off scanned gold cards and allowed others to use the same to enter the temple. Hassan Assistant Commissioner noticed it and submitted a report for further action. Based on the officer’s report, the Deputy Commissioner suspended them as per the Karnataka Civil Services (Rules).The Hassan district administration has issued golden cards to a limited number of people. The administration issues only 1,000 golden cards each day. Hundreds of people from different parts of the State and outside have been visiting the temple since Friday, October 10.Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner suspended two officials of the Social Welfare Department for misusing the identity cards issued to them.Published - October 12, 2025 07:56 pm IST
