The BSN Series semi-final between Redcar Bears and Glasgow Tigers on Sunday was abandoned after a horror crash.Multiple fans were injured after a bike flew over a fence and into the crowd at the speedway event in Middlesbrough.GettyJake Allen’s bike flew into the crowd following a crash during Redcar vs Glasgow[/caption]The incident occurred during Heat 14, with Redcar’s Jake Allen crashing at the ECCO Arena.His bike was then catapulted over the safety barrier on the fourth bend of the track.According to local reports, three fans were hit by the bike and were left requiring medical attention.Those fans are said to have been able to walk into an ambulance following the crash.With the safety fence impacted unable to be repaired immediately, the event was abandoned.In a statement shared to X, Glasgow confirmed the decision as well as adding: “Our thoughts are now only with those injured in the incident.”Redcar had been leading 43-41 on the night, with the tie level at 87-87 on aggregate.The Speedway Control Bureau (SCB) will now determine the outcome of the result following the abandonment on Sunday.Speaking after the decision, Glasgow boss Cami Brown explained: “Right now our thoughts are only with the fans involved in the incident.“It was a horrible moment and we just hope everyone is okay.
