Actor Mohanlal will present the maiden Artist Namboothiri Samman to illustrator C. Bhagyanath on Saturday (October 18). The award, instituted by the Kochi-based Artist Namboothiri Samman Trust, will be presented at a ceremony to be held at 5 p.m. at TDM Hall, Kochi. Trustee Babu Joseph will chair the meet.The award carries a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, certificate, and a sculptor made by Namboothiri.Known for his distinct style of sketching, Mr. Bhagyanath, a native of Thalassery, has been making illustrations for literary works in Malayalam for the past 27 years.
