Green turtles are officially out of danger, according to the latest update to the IUCN Red List, the definitive authority on the conservation status of the world's species. Global populations of this iconic marine reptile have increased by around 28% in the past 50 years. As a result, the species has been downlisted dramatically—from Endangered to Least Concern.
