There’s this neighbor I’m not very close to we just exchange casual greetings. Most times, I meet her when I go to pick up my children from school. Our kids attend the same school, and her second son and my first son are classmates. Sometimes we talk briefly about the school, how the teachers are doing, and whether we notice any improvement in the children. Anyway, yesterday I made a big pot of stew rich, colorful, and full of flavor. I like adding carrots because they give it a nice sweetness and texture. While it was still simmering, she stopped by and said the aroma was “entering her room.” I laughed it off, but then she said, “Can you give me a little? I haven’t cooked today.” I didn’t mind at all. I packed a decent portion for her, nicely in a bowl. Five minutes later, she came back with the same bowl and said: “Ah, this is small. You know I have kids.” Then she added, “I don’t even like stew with carrots. It spoils the taste for me.” while she walked off with the food. I just stood there speechless. Like, you begged for it, got it for free, complained it was too little, and then criticized the recipe? submitted by /u/SakuraaaSlut [link] [comments]
