(Express Photo)The driver of a D.EVI (Delhi Electric Vehicle Inter-connector) bus of the DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) was detained after he drove his bus on to the incoming traffic, crashing into a bike, an e-rickshaw and a school van carrying children in Shahdara’s Vishwas Nagar on Tuesday afternoon.Miraculously, only one of the schoolchildren in the van, who lost a tooth, and the bike and e-rickshaw drivers, sustained injuries.“There was a minor accident between a DTC bus, an Omni school van, an e-rickshaw and two motorcycles… The Omni van was hit from behind by the bike and the e-rickshaw. Two riders of the bike, Satish and Mahesh, as well as the e-rickshaw driver, Dinesh, received minor injuries. They were taken to Hedgewar Hospital,” said DCP (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam. The victim, riding his motorcycle, was headed towards the ESIC hospital for guard duty when he was struck by a bus coming from the opposite side.In August, a 63-year-old autorickshaw driver was killed in a bus collision in Shakarpur’s Vikas Marg Mangal Bazar after the bus driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.In June, a D.EVI bus, allegedly driven rashly, rammed into a stationary DTC bus in West Delhi. As a result of the impact, the stationary bus lurched forward, hitting three pedestrians and killing one of them.
