A critically-ill Gulf migrant from Elkathurthy of Husnabad assembly constituency, is set to return to Hyderabad from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital city, where he has been undergoing treatment at a hospital in a comatose condition for over a week.Lokini Krishna Murthy, 35, a software engineer working in Saudi Arabia, suffered brain-stem haemorrhage and slipped into coma over a week ago. He was admitted to a hospital in Riyadh and has been put on ventilator support, sources said.His father, Suraiah, submitted a memorandum at the ‘CM Pravasi Prajavani’ in Hyderabad four days ago seeking medical repatriation of his critically ill son from Riyadh to Hyderabad.According to sources, Krishna Murthy’s medical repatriation process has been completed, thanks to the intervention of Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who took up the matter with the Indian Embassy and Global Telangana Forum in Saudi Arabia.Published - October 13, 2025 07:56 pm IST
