(Representative Image/File Photo)After a prolonged wait, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has announced the dates for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC – Class 12) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC – Class 10) exams for 2026.Secretary of the Maharashtra State Board Pramod Gophane issued a notification on Monday, declaring the dates.The HSC written exams are scheduled from February 10 to March 18, 2026. Practical and oral assessments, along with other evaluation tests for HSC, will take place from January 23 to February 9, 2026. For the SSC exams, the written tests will be held from February 20 to March 18, 2026, with practical and oral assessments occurring between February 2 and February 18.A detailed timetable for both sets of exams will be released by the board at a later date.The Maharashtra State Board has continued the practice started last year of conducting early exams for HSC and SSC with the aim to ensure early declaration of results so that there is no delay in the admission cycle for the next academic year.For the first time last year, both exams started in February and the results were declared early, facilitating timely admissions. This year too, both exams are starting in February. Generally HSC and SSC exam dates are out by August.
