Kannada actor Raju Talikote passes away at 62 during shoot; CM DK Shivakumar mourns loss

Most people would recognize him as a participant from Season 7 of Big Boss: Kannada, which happened in 2019. The actor suffered a heart attack on the set of a film being shot in Udupi, Karnataka. The actor was admitted to Kasturba Hospital around 1:30 AM on Sunday after some health complications. Despite performing the angioplasty, the actor passed away a few hours later.  Raju Talikote is survived by two wives, two sons, and three daughters.Dy Chief Minister of Karnataka,  D.K. Shivakumar, expressing his sadness over the passing, stated, “It is deeply saddening that renowned theatre actor, comedian, and Director of Dharwad Rangayana, Raju Talikote, has passed away due to a heart attack. The career began at the age of seven as part of his father’s theatre group, Sri Khangateshwar Natya Sangha. The state icon endured a financially volatile childhood, hence forced him to do menial jobs to get by. The turning point in his theatre career came with Talikotakaru Nataka, where he played Sumitra (Kivuda). This role got him noticed as a performer on stage. He has acted in 17 films to date in supporting roles and comedic parts. Manasaare, Sugreeva, Almari are among some of his more popular films. The actor was last seen in the movie Sreemantha, which came out in 2023.
