Samsung Wallet has long been capable of storing digital IDs and as more states in the United States roll out this convenience for their residents, they can easily rely on Samsung's solution to securely store their documents on their devices. Arkansas has now become the latest state to enable digital ID storage in Samsung Wallet, residents can store both their driver's license or ID securely within the app. Arkansas joins other states in support digital IDs in Samsung WalletSamsung began supporting digital IDs in Samsung Wallet back in 2023. Prior to that, users could store credit, debit, and loyalty cards within the app. Arizona and Iowa were among the first states to support this solution, allowing residents to add their virtual driver's licenses to the Samsung Wallet app. The company had said at that time that more states would gradually roll out support. Many others have since then, expanding the convenience for users.The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration has announced that the state's Mobile ID is now compatible with Samsung Wallet on Galaxy devices. Residents can use it at participating businesses and Transportation Security Administration checkpoints across the country. More than 40,000 residents have enrolled for the digital ID since it was launched in March this year. While the service is available on Android devices through support for Samsung Wallet and Google Wallet, it's anticipated that support for Apple Wallet will arrive at some point next year. Supported devices include the Galaxy S20 series or later, the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold or later, the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A54.
