The eighth edition of the Quambiant Developers Global Grace Cancer Run witnessed an overwhelming response on Sunday, with over 30,000 participants taking part in the physical event at Gachibowli Stadium and another 1.5 lakh runners joining virtually from 130 countries. The annual run, organised by the Hyderabad-based Grace Cancer Foundation, aimed to raise global awareness of cancer prevention, early detection and healthy living.The event was inaugurated by Telangana Ministers D. Sridhar Babu (IT), Ponnam Prabhakar (Transport and BC Welfare), and Vakiti Srihari (Sports), along with Adviser to the Chief Minister Vem Narendar Reddy, chairman of the Sports Authority of Telangana Shiva Sena Reddy, film star Adivi Sesh and Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar and Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty.Chinnababu Sunkavalli, founder of Grace Cancer Foundation, was felicitated for his role in transforming the run into a global movement.Mr. Sridhar Babu lauded the efforts of Mr.Sunkavalli for turning a local initiative into a worldwide campaign. The funds raised through the event will go towards free mobile cancer screening for underprivileged communities, with the foundation aiming to reach 1 lakh people through its outreach programmes.Adivi Sesh expressed admiration for the massive turnout and said he looked forward to joining future editions. Singer Ramana Gogula added energy to the event with a live performance of his popular song ‘Godari Gattu Meeda’.The run also celebrated cancer survivors, including Neelima, Prakash, Sangeetha and Geetha, who shared their stories of resilience and recovery.
