Praja Arogya Vedika (PAV), people’s health forum dedicated to ensuring accessible healthcare for all, on Sunday (October 12, 2025) expressed concern over suspension of services under the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva scheme in private network hospitals and urged the State government to take immediate steps for its restoration.Following the Andhra Pradesh Speciality Hospitals Association’s (ASHA) decision, many private network hospitals in the State have stopped providing services to people under the scheme due to pending dues from the government. In a letter, PAV members said that the disruption is severely impacting patients, particularly those with pre-scheduled procedures and planned surgeries, leading to significant hardship and potential health risks. The ASHA’s demands are genuine, the members said. The PAV urged the State government to ensure swift restoration of Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva scheme in all network hospitals. The PAV said a meeting has to be convened between representatives from the health department, Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Trust and ASHA and civil society groups to address and resolve the underlying concerns.Published - October 12, 2025 11:32 pm IST
