‘My god that hurt’ – Terry Bradshaw suffers injury while rolling back years with best Daniel Jones impression

Wait 5 sec.

Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts have been one of the stories of the 2025 NFL season so far. Having been exiled from the New York Giants just over a year after penning a four-year, $160 million extension in March 2023, the veteran quarterback is acting as a man possessed with his new team. Daniel Jones has turned into Indiana Jones since his arrival to the Colts.GettyWith the 4-1 Colts dominating the headlines, the NFL on FOX crew opted to spend a segment of their pre-game show showcasing Jones and the Colts’ offense. With four-time Super Bowl champion Terry Bradshaw acting as Jones, the crew, also comprised of Michael Strahan, Jay Glazer and Curt Menefee, demonstrated how the Colts use play-action and the rushing threat of two-time Pro Bowler Jonathan Taylor to open up the passing game for Jones and his receiving corps. As Bradshaw fired over a pass to an open Strahan in the corner, the 77-year-old could be heard joking: “Oh my god does that hurt,” before patting his head and laughing while saying “take me out!”This could be interpreted as a dig at Colts backup quarterback Anthony Richardson, who last season ‘tapped out’ of the Colts’ game against the Houston Texans claiming he was “tired.”Strahan spoke of how Jones is so “physically gifted” because of needing to have a “strong arm” to make the type of plays he does for the Colts, before Bradshaw offered his own two cents. “He did not lose his confidence,” Bradshaw added. “When you get beat up like he did in New York, then he goes to Minnesota and then there [Indianapolis.]“But my god, his confidence is through the roof right now.”Through the first five weeks of the 2025 NFL season, Jones has gone off for 1,290 yards from 107 pass completions at a career-high 71.3 percent completion percentage, six touchdowns and two interceptions. Former Texans and Arizona Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt believes there are two leading front-runners for the coveted individual award – neither of whom were favored names coming into the season.“It’s been really exciting this year,” Watt said on the NFL on CBS broadcast. “It’s a conversation that’s been dominated in the past by Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen. “This year we have a whole crop of guys and I think, when I look at it, the two guys that stand out to me most are Baker Mayfield, who has been leading some of these incredible late-game drives to win for the Bucs.“And Daniel Jones, who is doing something incredible in Indianapolis. He has gone in there, and I don’t think anybody saw this season going quite the way that it has so far for the Colts. Jones has been a revelation on offense since moving to IndianapolisGettyRichardson picked up a freak eye injury during warm ups against the CardinalsGetty“But he’s just stepped in, and is another one of these guys in a new role, new coaching staff gets the best out of him. “He’s been doing an incredible job so far for them.”Entering Sunday’s contest against the Cardinals, Richardson was originally listed as a ‘healthy scratch’ which saw rumors begin to swirl over the third-year pro being a trade candidate. However, in a bizarre turn of events, it was revealed that the fourth overall pick in the 2023 draft had suffered a freak eye injury after receiving a band to the face during warm-ups. Richardson lost his starting role over the summer to Jones, and hasn’t taken to an NFL field as the Colts starter since Week 13 of the 2024 season against the New England Patriots. With Jones a worthy MVP candidate, it doesn’t look as though he will be getting an opportunity any time soon – not in Indianapolis anyway.
