The world’s fascination with dinosaurs — reignited more than three decades ago by Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park (1993) and magnified by the more recent Jurassic World films — has long found physical form in theme-park rides at Universal Studios resorts worldwide. From the original attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando to variations of those rides at the likes of Universal Studios Japan, fans can now explore jungles, come face-to-face with animatronic dinosaurs, and experience the wonder and terror of Isla Nublar.Credit: Universal Studios JapanOne Jurassic World Experience Is Closing Its DoorsAlongside those permanent attractions, “pop-up” exhibitions like Jurassic World: The Experience (formerly Jurassic World: The Exhibition, during its initial run at London Excel, etc.) have made the franchise more accessible to other audiences, namely those in the UK.Jurassic World: The Experience, housed at NEON at Battersea Power Station, has been instrumental in keeping the brand alive beyond Universal Studios’ theme parks and away from the screen. However, it’s now slated to close its doors — or gates — to the public.According to the official website and ticket sellers, the final day for tours is January 4, 2026.Credit: NEON/UniversalRelated: How ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Sets Up Human-Dino Hybrids in Upcoming SequelIs Jurassic World: The Experience Worth the Visit?Since opening on May of this year, the exhibit has welcomed countless visitors, delivering an immersive walk-through experience across several themed zones. Guests pass through the iconic Jurassic World gates, stroll beneath towering animatronic giants such as a Brachiosaurus, and explore laboratories filled with dinosaur hatchlings and fossils. The experience also features life-size re-creations of dangerous predators such as Velociraptors, and a massive Tyrannosaurus Rex, plus other creatures like Carnotaurus, or Indominus Rex in earlier iterations. For families and fans alike, the attraction has offered both the wonder and terror that made the original film so popular with cinemagoers in 1993.“Board the ferry to Isla Nublar and pass through the towering gates of Jurassic World,” the website’s description reads. “Walk beneath the shadow of a majestic Brachiosaurus, come face to face with fierce Velociraptors, venture into the Valley of the Gyrospheres, take a selfie with a baby dinosaur, then brace yourself for the ultimate heart-pounding moment: a close encounter with the most legendary predator of them all… the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex.”Credit: Universal PicturesThere Might Be More From Jurassic in the UKWhile this closing marks the end of the current run in London, it’s unlikely to be the final chapter for this roaming exhibition. Given the global footprint of the franchise’s permanent theme-park attractions at Universal Studios, and not to mention the unwavering popularity and ongoing success of the films in movie theaters, with this year’s sequel Jurassic World Rebirth having grossed over $860 million worldwide, a return seems more than plausible.Whether future versions will land back in London or elsewhere remains to be seen, but for now, those who want one last encounter with dinosaurs on the Thames have until early January to book their tickets. With all that said, UK-based fans needn’t worry about the possibility of never stepping through those iconic gates again. Universal Studios Great Britain is currently underway in Bedfordshire. Although no attractions or themed lands have been confirmed yet, Jurassic World is among one of the many IPs rumored to be appearing.Have you visited Jurassic World: The Experience yet?
