The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has applauded Stanbic Bank for playing a leading role in empowering digital content creators as the bank hosted the inaugural Stanbic Ongea Digital Creators Summit at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Thursday.Nyombi Thembo, the UCC Executive Director praised the bank for championing the creative sector, but advised content creators to professionalize their work.“You have UCC’s support through our Universal Access Fund. Content creators are the future of Uganda’s creative and digital economy, and Stanbic is here to walk with you.”The discussions centered on the major challenges faced by creators including high data costs, monetization gaps, regulatory hurdles, and online safety while highlighting emerging opportunities in brand partnerships, digital skills, and platform growth.He said Stanbic’s backing for Ongea, aligns with the bank’s Positive Impact agenda, supporting financial inclusion, digital literacy, and youth employment under the recently launched Women, Youth & Farmer (WYF) initiative.
