Momentum has formally submitted a Freedom of Information (FOI) request seeking full disclosure of any ownership, lease, or encroachment agreements.Following DB’s application to take over the public rock coastline at St George’s Bay for the construction of a swimming pool and beach deck, Momentum committee member Matthew Agius has submitted a Freedom of Information (FOI) request to the Lands Authority. The party requested for the FOI as well as related documents, covering the stretch of public coastline and rock shoreline on the north side of St George’s Bay.Specifically, the request demands: copies of any ownership or lease contracts; minutes of any board meetings from the relevant authority in which the site’s status was discussed; all receipts or applications for development submitted for that parcel; results of site evaluations; records of compensation paid to previous occupants; and any tender documents or related paperwork.The FOI was filed by Momentum committee member Matthew Agius on 8th December.Momentum argues that transparency on the land’s legal status and history is essential before any development is allowed to proceed.What do you make of this?•
