Samsung has launched the world's first Android XR device, the Galaxy XR. It also revealed that it is planning to launch AI smart glasses in the near future, but didn't reveal the exact launch timeline for such glasses. However, Google may have indirectly revealed that information.During the Android Show: XR Edition, Google revealed that there will be two types of Android XR-powered smart glasses. The first type are those which have an onboard camera, speakers, and microphones. They are lightweight glasses and look like regular glasses.You can chat naturally with Gemini, take photos, record videos, listen to music, make calls, and search for bite-sized information on the internet using such glasses. In collaboration with Samsung, Google is working with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker for AI smart glasses. These glasses will arrive next year (2026).The second type of Android XR-powered smart glasses has an in-lens display on one of its lenses. That display privately shows you helpful information right on the lens. That information includes music playback controls, turn-by-turn directions on Google Maps, messages, Uber status updates, and captions for real-time language translation.
