(Photo: YouTube/ARY/BeerBiceps)We often hear stories by film producers and directors about the kind of tantrums they have to deal with while dealing with actors. It is rare to see an actor admit these problems and, in fact, laud their contemporaries for not engaging in such behaviour. Pakistani actor Alyy Khan recently did the same when he appreciated the professionalism with which Bollywood actors conduct themselves and even namedropped an actor from the industry. The Archies actor appeared on the ARY podcast, where he was asked about the level of punctuality and professionalism he has experienced in different industries. He admitted the gaps in the Pakistani film industry and said, “It’s not just about professionalism. It is also about the kind of exposure we are getting over here (Pakistan). The way things work here, the decorum of the set, all these things factor in. Now if we don’t get that kind of exposure, how are we expected to operate on the same level? You can even train people by keeping a team, but we don’t have the kind of sustainable work to keep that team together.”ALSO READ: Dharmendra said yes to Hukumat in five minutes with a low signing amount, recalls Anil Sharma: ‘He even paid Rs 3 lakh to get the film on floors’However, the actor added that things are getting better. He also argued that an actor’s tantrums are often byproducts of the free rein given by the producer. Khan said, “I do think that with that time, we can get better at this. If any actor feels like they are allowed to come 3-4 hours late on the set, then it is the fault of the producer. Suppose an actor gets Rs 1 lakh for a day, and he misses half the day of the shoot. Will he take half the salary? They won’t, and they’ll say things like, ‘Do I get residuals from the views we get on YouTube?’ No, they don’t. So they are able to justify these things.”Khan then lauded Bollywood stars for being on schedule when working and gave the example of Kareena Kapoor to make his point. He said, “These things don’t happen internationally. If the camera is supposed to roll at 9 am, and Kareena needs 2 hours before the shoot, she will arrive on set at 7 am. The shoot will start on time, no matter what. You take 3 hours but then arrive accordingly. There is no rocket science when it comes to these things. When people work with a variety of other people, then they understand how to behave.”Apart from his work in Pakistani films and television, Alyy has also featured in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, Arun Gopalan’s Tehran, and Netflix’s The Serpent.Click here to follow Screen Digital on YouTube and stay updated with the latest from the world of cinema.© IE Online Media Services Pvt LtdTags:bollywoodKareena Kapoor Khan
