Boeing has acquired Spirit AeroSystems for $4.7 billion. This move brings a key supplier of 737 Max jetliner fuselages back in-house. The acquisition aims to improve quality and safety following recent incidents. Spirit AeroSystems was previously a Boeing division before being spun off in 2005. This reacquisition reverses a long-standing outsourcing strategy for Boeing.
