Hyderabad-based pheromone and semiochemical-based crop protection solution provider ATGC Biotech and Israeli firm Luxembourg Industries have set up a 50:50 joint venture.Semiophore, the JV set up with an investment of $10 million, is dedicated to global commercialisation of pheromone- and semiochemical-based crop protection technologies.Through the Indo–Israeli partnership, 18 advanced semiochemical technologies, including mating disruption, attract-and-kill, aggregation and anti-aggregation systems will be scaled to address a multi-billion-dollar global opportunity across crops such as grapes, apples, citrus, almonds, tomatoes, cotton, corn, cabbage, cauliflower and avocados.Under the JV agreement, ATGC will contribute IP, technology, know-how, regulatory dossiers, capex and research and development leadership, while capex as well as the regulatory, marketing and manufacturing costs will be taken care by Luxembourg, the companies said in a release, announcing the exchange of licensing agreement was held at the valedictory session of the First International Science & Technology Clusters Conference in New Delhi.Published - December 08, 2025 09:52 pm IST
