Western Union sets up GCC in Hyderabad

Western Union has established a global capability centre (GCC) in Hyderabad.The second such in India, it will focus on platform engineering, advanced digital transformation and thought leadership. The facility will be inaugurated in the coming months and expected to host around 400 employees, Western Union said in a release.Head India Technology Centres Rajeev Mago met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 earlier this week and briefed him about the GCC setup in collaboration with HCL Tech on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.“Hyderabad’s world-class infrastructure and talented workforce make it an ideal destination for our GCC. Telangana’s conducive business environment and commitment to innovation align with our growth aspirations. We are excited to be a part of the State’s thriving tech ecosystem,” said Mr. Mago said in a release.Hyderabad is now a leading hub for financial technology thanks to the thriving talent pool in technology and finance, supported by a robust ecosystem of strong infrastructure and government support.
