Marsa Sports Club just served up a major milestone for Maltese sport, hosting the Men’s & Women’s Sound Machine ITF $15K Tennis Tournament- Malta’s first professional tennis event in nearly three decades!Players, fans and officials alike hailed the event as a smash hit, praising the top-tier organisation and atmosphere that set a new standard for tournaments on the Islands.In a gripping Men’s Singles Final, Arthur Nagel (France) battled past world No. 534 Toby Samuel (UK) with a 6–4, 7–5 win. Over on the women’s side, Alice Gillan (Great Britain) WTA Rank No. 515 dominated with a confident 6–3, 6–3 victory over Karla Popovic (Croatia).Homegrown talent also shone brightly. Emma Montebello reached the Women’s Singles Quarterfinals and became a Doubles Finalist alongside Julie Jirakova (Czech Republic).Matthew Asciak made a triumphant comeback, reaching the Men’s Doubles Semifinals with Czech partner Denis Petak.Liam Delicata impressed against Petros Tsitsipas, brother of world star Stefanos Tsitsipas.Elaine Genovese showed resilience reaching the second round in Singles whilst Cheyenne Borg and rising stars Evan Galea, Mariya Magro gained valuable professional experience.Finals Day kicked off with a stylish Invitational Drinks Reception, welcoming VIPs including Shadow Minister for Sport Hon. David Agius, Sport Malta CEO Mark Cutajar, MOC Sec.
