Acting on advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the three were charged separately to face trial in the magisterial district where their alleged offences were committed.Jennifer Rodriguez and Krystal LaCruz arriving at court (Photo: News Room/ November 05, 2025)Correia, a farmer and part-time mechanic from Pomeroon, and Pramdeo, a taxi driver, were represented by attorney Bernard DaSilva. The court heard that Correia contacted Pramdeo to transport two Venezuelans including LaCruz from Parika to a hotel in Meten-Meer-Zorg.Pramdeo reportedly completed the trip, was paid in cash believed to be proceeds from raw gold, and later returned home. Investigators allege that Bettancourt entered Guyana illegally with Poedemo and that Pramdeo later transported the pair to meet LaCruz.Police also revealed that LaCruz and Poedemo shared an intimate relationship and that she played a key coordinating role in the group’s movements before the attack.Correia, Pramdeo, and Rodriguez were remanded until November 24.Wednesday’s proceedings unfolded under heavy police security at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts. The accused arrived in three vehicles — two transporting the men and one the women. The female suspects were handcuffed together, while the male defendants were shackled and handcuffed.Three other accused in the matter arrived at court (Photo: News Room/ November 05, 2025)Armed ranks of the Guyana Police Force patrolled the courthouse compound on foot and in vehicles, while civilians were barred from standing near the entrance as the accused were escorted in and out. Family members of the Venezuelan defendants waited across the street, in front of a nearby church, and a translator assisted throughout the hearings.Investigators believe the October 26 bombing was a planned and coordinated operation led by Poedemo.According to police, Poedemo entered Guyana illegally from Venezuela around 08:00 hrs on the day of the explosion. Between 11:00 hrs and noon, he and several accomplices allegedly conducted surveillance at the Mobil Fuel Station before returning later to carry out the attack.CCTV footage reportedly captured Poedemo placing an explosive device near the gas cylinder storage area after being stopped by a worker when he tried to conceal it in a garbage bin. He then fled the scene.Three of the accused at court (Photo: News Room/ November 05, 2025)Police later recovered images of the explosive device on Poedemo’s phone and clothing believed to have been worn during the attack at a house in Vergenoegen, Region Three, where he was arrested. The horrific bombing sparked national outrage. President Dr. Irfaan Ali condemned the act as a “vile assault on Guyana,” vowing that justice will be pursued “to the fullest extent of the law.”Minister of Home Affairs Oneidge Walrond also reiterated that the government will seek the death penalty for anyone convicted of terrorism under Guyana’s laws.6-Y-O girl dies after explosion at Regent Street gas station  The post Venezuelan mastermind, accomplices refused bail and remanded for terrorism over deadly gas station bombing appeared first on News Room Guyana.
