Known for her candid nature and bold statements, Sunita often makes headlines, and this time, it’s no different. Amid ongoing rumours of marital discord and separation, she has stirred fresh controversy by calling Govinda’s long-time family priest and astrologer a “chor” (thief). In a recent episode of Paras Chhabra’s podcast, Abraa Kaa Dabra Show, Sunita alleged that the family’s priest “keeps suggesting random pujas and taking money.” Her comments quickly went viral, prompting Govinda to issue a public apology to the priest, Pandit Mukesh Shukla.Govinda’s public apologyA few days after the podcast aired, Govinda took to his Instagram Stories to share a video apologising to Pandit Mukesh Shukla. In the video, the actor said: “Greetings to all, I am Govinda and I want to clarify that our family priest Pandit Mukesh Shukla is a very well-known and capable priest. He understands the Vedas and astrology. His father, Pandit Jatadhari, has also been an integral part of our family. Lately, my wife Sunita Ahuja made critical remarks against you. I am really ashamed and I condemn it.”ALSO READ | 25 years of Indian Cinema: In 2000, Hrithik Roshan challenged Khans, Amitabh Bachchan came to small screenHe further added: “I believe you are one of the simplest men on earth. I still remember how you stood by me during my difficult times. Because of your connections with several regional politicians, you have often helped ease my life. I request you to keep your blessings with us. Thank you.”What exactly did Sunita say?During her appearance on Paras Chhabra’s show, the discussion turned to black magic and blind faith. Paras mentioned that someone from another religion had allegedly performed a totka (ritual) on him, and he didn’t know who to approach as most of the astrologers are fake.Story continues below this adJumping in, Sunita said, “There’s one like that in our house too!”She went on to explain: “He is Govinda’s priest. He’s fake. He keeps suggesting new rituals and pujas and keeps charging money for them. ‘Yeh puja karao, aur Rs 2 lakh do!’ I tell him so many times to do his own puja because his puja won’t help Govinda. I don’t believe in giving away Rs 2 or 10 lakh for so-called rituals.”She added: “It’s better to wake up early, pray yourself, and do your own puja. How can someone else’s donation or hawan help you? I don’t even let others donate on my behalf. I do it myself. I don’t believe in ‘Give us Rs 2 lakh, do this hawan, and your family will be fine.’ Sab chor log hote hai.”Sunita didn’t stop there — she also took a dig at her husband’s inner circle: “Govinda doesn’t have good people around him. He’s surrounded by fools who pretend to be writers and advisers. They don’t like me because I tell the truth. All these ‘chamchas’ (sycophants) keep talking against me to him.”Click here to follow Screen Digital on YouTube and stay updated with the latest from the world of cinema.© IE Online Media Services Pvt LtdTags:Govinda
