By: Express News ServiceMohali | Updated: November 4, 2025 11:58 PM IST 2 min readAfter reviewing the material, the court observed that the complainant had presented sufficient preliminary evidence to suggest the accused had “deliberately orchestrated the accident”In the 2017 death case of an elderly woman near Radha Soami Satsang Bhawan in Sector 71, a Mohali court has summoned six persons, including the victim’s daughter-in-law and her male friend, on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy.Divulging details, advocate Tejvinder Singh Gill, who appeared for complainant and the victim’s son Bharat Bhushan, said, “Judicial Magistrate First Class Gurleen Kaur passed a detailed order, observing the evidence presented by the complainant prima facie indicates that the complainant’s mother, Surinder Kaur, was intentionally murdered’.”According to the complaint filed by Bharat Bhushan, on the morning of August 13, 2017, his mother was on her routine walk to Radha Soami Satsang Bhawan when she was hit by a Tavera car near the civil dispensary, and the driver fled the scene immediately.Initially, an FIR was registered against an unidentified person, but subsequent investigation found the car was being driven by a cab driver employed by the complainant’s wife.In the complaint, Bharat Bhushan stated that he collected CCTV footage from multiple locations, clearly showing the same vehicle following his mother shortly before the incident. “The footage also showed the car’s headlights were damaged after the collision, strengthening suspicions of foul play,” he stated.Bharat Bhushan alleged that his wife had “an illicit relationship” with the driver and that both had conspired to murder his mother.
