There are two kinds of Costco shoppers in the world: those with the intrepid spirit of adventure and an unwavering appetite for Kirkland Signature products, and those with doubt in their hearts.I am in the second category. And if you are anything like me, you too have trawled the aisles of Costco, never quite sure if you’re getting a great deal or a cheap product. Kirkland Signature, Costco’s house brand, is known for delivering premium products at reasonable prices, but the brand itself remains something of an enigma. It is a behemoth shrouded in secrecy, churning out hundreds of obliquely branded items, all of them of unverifiable provenance and unknown quality. Some things change your life, like Kirkland Signature’s vodka (our unanimous favorite in a taste test), or its baby formula, or even its cotton sheets. And some you vow never to buy again. Perhaps nowhere is this truer than in the clothing section.
