The Cheltenham November Meeting kicks off on Friday and all eyes will be on Jonbon in the Shloer Chase ahead of his seasonal return. He is aiming for a hat-trick of wins in the race and if on song the rest will be playing catch-up. Ahead of that headliner, the earlier handicaps and novice chases offer smart angles for punters looking for value rather than just backing the favourite.Keep your eyes peeled for any early movers in the market and any stable that seems to have wintered well – Friday might not get the headlines like the Festival itself, but it’s packed with betting opportunities.Top Cheltenham November Meeting 2025 betting offerCheltenham November Meeting (Friday) tips1.10 A Pai De Nom – 9/2 each way with bet365 NEXT BEST1.45 Gunsight Ridge – 4/1 each way with Betfred2.20 Wade Out – 9/4 with bet3652.55 Jonbon – 1/1 with William Hill3.30 No Drama This End – 4/1 each way with bet365 NAP4.00 Fortune De Mer – 5/1 each way with Paddy Power*odds provided are correct at the time of writing and are subject to change.Joe’s best horse racing betting tips for Cheltenham November Meeting Day 1 on Friday (14th November)Find my top tips for today’s racing with odds from the best horse racing bookies below:1.10 Lycetts Insurance Brokers Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 2m5fThere is a lot of rain due at Cheltenham and that could prove problematic for a few of these. One it won’t bother and it might even help is A PAI DE NOM for Dan and Harry Skelton. This horse chased home the exciting Sober Glory in testing conditions in a bumper on debut and definitely handles softer conditions. He impressed winning on debut over hurdles and that form has been franked with the runner-up Maldini Milano winning easily at Plumpton since. He then bumped into Gentleman Toboot carrying a penalty at Newton Abbot and that was another encouraging performance as the winner looks smart. This track will suit and he has more to come now handicapping so is worth keeping on side.Kap Vert has winning form in soft ground and ran well on reappearance to finish runner-up at Fontwell last month. He is lightly raced and likely has more to come so looks to head the dangers. Bective Abbey is quite a big price back over hurdles and could be value to hit the frame. Bet on A PAI DE NOM each way at 9/2 with bet365 1.45 Unibet Middle Distance Veterans’ Chase Series Veterans’ Handicap Chase (Class 2) 2m4fTesting ground will suit GUNSIGHT RIDGE and if he jumps well he could have a great chance of taking this veterans event. He would have beaten Matata at this meeting last year but for falling at the last and impressed winning at Sandown on penultimate start. For a 10yo he is actually still quite lightly raced so at 4/1 I think that price is appealing.Fugitif can be quite a hard horse to catch right but if he is on a going day he is easily good enough to win this. He was out of form towards the end of last season but does go well fresh and like the selection is still quite lightly raced. Mister Coffey will probably get outpaced over this trip but he will keep galloping and if conditions are attritional he might represent value in the market. Bet on GUNSIGHT RIDGE each way at 4/1 with Betfred 2.20 Sun’s ’Save Our Bets’ Novices’ Chase (Listed) (Class 1) 3m1fThe future looks bright for WADE OUT and I thought he showed a really good attitude to run down Wendigo at Worcester on chase debut last month. He found tons off the bridle and was staying on strongly through the line suggesting this step up beyond 3 miles is going to prove ideal. Pic Roc who unseated in that contest has won since so the form has already been given a boost as well. He has lots more to come over fences and could be a horse to follow not only today but for the season ahead.Double Powerful impressed finishing third on chase debut at this track last month. He is definitely going to improve for that run and also looks a horse with potential so I see him as the clear danger. Leave Of Absence showed a good attitude to edge out Pied Piper here last time but a few fences came out due to the low sun and this looks tougher up against some potential improvers. Bet on WADE OUT to win at 9/4 with bet365 2.55 Shloer Chase (Grade 2) (Class 1) 2m8 of the last 12 winners were favourites and 12 of 12 top 3 in the betting6 of the last 12 winners won on their last run before10 of the last 12 winners were rated 155 or higher12 of the last 12 winners had at least 1 previous win in a Graded raceThis race has been giving me a headache as we know JONBON doesn’t love Cheltenham but even so he is difficult to oppose here. He is on a hat-trick in the race and might not need to be at his best to win it. He is a remarkable horse who has only actually tasted defeat 5 times having won 18 now. He is 13 from 17 over fences and really should prove too strong for this field.L’eau Du Sud was only edged out late in the Arkle and then probably found Aintree coming too soon when only third to Kalif Du Berlais. He could do better this season but needs to be as is rated 155 in comparison to Jonbon who is 168 so plenty to find here. If the rain that is forecast does arrive that could bring Libberty Hunter into it and he might actually emerge as a greater danger to the favourite. Bet on JONBON to win at 1/1 with William Hill 3.30 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2) (Class 1) 2m5f9 of the last 12 winners were aged 52 of the last 12 winners were favourites but 9 of 12 top 3 in the betting5 of the last 12 winners were rated 131 or higher (7 of 12 didn’t have a rating yet)1 of the last 12 winners had at least 1 previous win in a Graded raceHeads Up has to be favourite for this off the back of that win at Listowel on hurdles debut. He is clearly quite promising as chased home Bambino Fever in the Champion Bumper last season so has strong form. I do prefer NO DRAMA THIS END though as I know the yard love this horse. He looked potentially useful beating the well regarded Keops Des Bordes on debut at Warwick and then was highly tried at Cheltenham. He is going to improve plenty now sent over hurdles and could be a really exciting prospect. He lacks experience but looks good value at the prices. It is not just a two-horse race though as the Skelton team have Great Fleet who was only 3 lengths behind Conman John which is decent form. He will go on improving for a while yet so can run well. Moneygarrow was a good third in the Persian War on hurdles debut and is another one who can do better with that under his belt. Bet on KING ZEPHYR to win at 6/4 with Paddy Power 4.00 Valda Energy Novices’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 2m1/2fI’m still not quite sure how Harry Skelton managed to get FORTUNE DE MER up over C&D last time. He was keen and was settled in last and didn’t jump great but came powering through and got there on the line.He is clearly a tricky individual but has plenty of talent and with pace guaranteed again here a similar scenario could easily play out again. He is unexposed and looks a horse worth following for now.Lucky Bere ran well to finish third to French Emperor on return at Worcester. That run screamed a reappearance and I expect him to improve bundles from it so he could be good each way value to run well and may be worth a saver. Alphonse Le Grande has been backed into favouritism coming off the Flat and won’t mind if the ground deteriorates so I am fearful of him for Tony Martin who knows how to land a punt at Cheltenham. Bet on FORTUNE DE MER each way at 5/1 with Paddy Power My top tip for Friday’s racing at the Cheltenham November MeetingBoth Wade Out and Jonbon look great bets on the card but with the heavens likely to open it could be worth hunting down some value and A PAI DE NOM looks a great bet in the opener with further improvement to come and I’m also keen to side with the potential of NO DRAMA THIS END in the Grade 2 later in the afternoon. Bet an Each Way Double on A PAI DE NOM and NO DRAMA THIS END at 26/1 with bet365 About the authorJoe NorrisI’m Joe Norris, co-founder and Director of GetYourTipsOut (GYTO), which I launched in 2009 to provide daily sports betting tips, with the main focus on horse racing.
