She was crooning her hit 2011 track “Bubble Pop,” when she suddenly stopped and collapsed on stage. The back dancers rushed to her before a bodyguard carried her off the stage.Fans of HyunA expressed concern for the singer all over social media for hours before she gave a health update on Instagram. She assured fans that she was feeling better. “I’m really sorry. It was a short break between performances, but I wanted to show you my best. I don’t remember anything that happened, and I feel like I wasn’t professional,” she said.“I just want to say thank you for admiring, cherishing, and loving me since I was very young, even though I’ve always been lacking. And I’m really okay! Don’t worry about me,” added HyunA. Some fans speculated that her fainting may have something to do with the drastic 10 kg weight loss she’s achieved over the last month through an intense diet. However, HyunA has had past episodes of fainting as well since she suffers from the health condition vasovagal syncope, which involves causing her to black out and feel deep emotional distress very frequently. Her parents even had to even pull her out of her K-Pop band Wonder Girls soon after their memorable debut in 2007.As per K-Pop Starz, the condition causes HyunA to collapse multiple times during the day. She even fainted on set while filming her and Dawn’s music video of Ping Pong in 2019. Another professional setback caused by her condition was when she had to postpone her comeback album ‘Good Girl,’ originally slated to release in 2020, to 2021. On an episode of Jessi’s Showterview, she revealed her condition gets aggravated when she gets anxious during promotions.HyunA isn’t the only K-Pop star who suffers from a long-term medical condition. Even BTS member V has cholinergic urticaria, a condition that causes red bumps on the skin and unbearable itching. Since the condition gets flared up by rise in body temperatures, V is often at the receiving end of it during stage shows. While there’s no cure to this occupational hazard, V tackles it by wearing loose clothes and drinking lots of water during his performances. Also Read — ‘We all have inner demons’: Why KPop Demon Hunters resonates globallyStory continues below this adEven Wonwoo, member of the K-Pop boy band Seventeen, suffers from acute gastritis.
