Donald Trump brutally dumps ‘Wacky’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, announces he won’t endorse a ‘ranting lunatic’

Wait 5 sec.

The cracks within MAGA just grew wider with President Donald Trump officially withdrawing his support for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in the upcoming primaries in Georgia. He made the presidential announcement on Truth Social because that’s just the way the president addresses the nation these days. In the long post, Trump finally detailed the inner workings of their relationship and how exactly it fell apart. According to the president, things started souring between the two when Trump advised her not to run for Governor in the upcoming 2026 election because of her low polling data compared to frontrunners like Chris Carr and Burt Jones. Trump claims that’s around the time Greene became a “wacky ranting lunatic,” and he opted to stop answering her calls. Which certainly somewhat checks out, because somewhere in the past political year, Greene started accusing Laura Loomer of misleading the president instead of listening to apparently more “moderate” people such as herself. Trump then adds that because she crossed the political aisle and talked to non-conservative political shows like The View, Greene is now “far left,” and he will be looking to endorse her competitor in the primaries. And Greene was clearly already anticipating this withdrawal of support and had already drawn a hard line with the rest of the MAGA crowd, especially when it came to the Jeffrey Epstein controversy. The Epstein saga is the one issue that simply refused to go away from the president and his cohorts. And Greene — with all her controversies; and they are many — has consistently been on the right side of this one issue. As it becomes more and more likely that the Epstein files won’t stay in a vault forever, it gets more difficult for MAGA supporters to defend his relationship with the late convicted pedophile. This is not to say that Greene is now going to switch her political outlook. But the idea of a prominent member of MAGA leaving that particular sub-faction of the Republican Party and then winning an election anyway could be a significant event that cannot be overstated. It’s worth mentioning that Greene has never actually directly criticized Trump — just the people around him. So Greene herself probably doesn’t even know how she can maintain support within the Republican Party without Trump’s blessing. The only difference between then and now is she no longer has a choice and will have to find out with the rest of us. Marjorie Taylor Greene is yet to respond to Trump on her usually very active X account with over 1.5M followers. The last significant statement she made was criticizing yet another Trump-backed policy of protecting the H1B visa — which she wants banned. And as much as you would expect Trump to back that as well, considering his aggressive anti-immigration stance, he does actually stand against banning the H1B visa. How Greene eventually responds to this might make or break her foreseeable future in politics. Maybe just posting a picture of her “Trump was right about everything” hat with a NOT added in using a Sharpie would do.
