Media personality and nightlife kingpin MC Kats believes Uganda may never witness another female socialite as iconic and extravagant as Shanita Namuyimbwa, famously known as Bad Black, during her peak years.According to MC Kats, Bad Black’s dominance in Kampala’s nightlife scene was unmatched, defined by lavish spending, wild parties, and an aura of mystery that kept the city talking for years.Bad Black, who later served a four-year jail sentence for defrauding her then-lover David Greenhalgh of $3.9 million, had already stamped her name deep into Kampala’s nightlife history long before her arrest.Kats vividly recalls one of her most outrageous parties, the legendary Black Party, which he says shut down the city. She once did the Black Party and people were still sleeping by 12pm following the heavy drinking from the previous night. She told everyone to drink whatever they want. We drank and finished the bar and even went to a depo in Wandegeya to get more liquor. Even patrols were there providing security and letting people enjoy themselves. I don’t know if anyone ever saw that bill.MC Kats adds that Bad Black operated without limits, financially or otherwise.“Black had no budget,” he said, noting that although he never personally saw it, many people believed she owned a black card with endless access to money. This year’s basummer are like bedbugs – Bad BlackHer generosity, and reckless spending, were legendary. Kats says stories circulated of her casually throwing Shs 5 million at crowds on Wilson Street and around Mutaasa Kafeero, or leaving her car engine running as she spent hours getting her hair done in a salon.Kats admits he mostly witnessed the tail-end of her prime, around the time she was dating socialite Meddie Ssentongo, but even then, her impact was unmistakable. @silentmediaug #creatorsearchinsights #creatersearchinsights #goviral #foryou ♬ original sound – SILENT MEDIA The post MC Kats says Bad Black’s nightlife reign may never be topped appeared first on MBU.
