During her years in Hyderabad, she developed a close friendship with actor Lakshmi Manchu, daughter of veteran star Mohan Babu. Their bond was so strong that whenever Lakshmi visited Mumbai, she would stay with Rakul, right up until Rakul married producer-actor Jackky Bhagnani.In a conversation with Hautterfly, Lakshmi revealed that Rakul recently got upset with her. “The other day she got very upset,” Lakshmi said, explaining that both Jackky and Rakul had pulled her aside on her birthday. “They told me, ‘Laku, you have changed a lot.’ I was like, ‘What did I do?’”Lakshmi fondly recalled the time when she and Rakul lived like inseparable best friends. “Whenever I visited Mumbai, before shifting here permanently, I always lived with Rakul. And every time she came to Hyderabad, her house was just a kilometre away from mine. She is newly married, so I will keep quiet for another year. After that, I will whack her and tell her, ‘If Jackky can’t do it, you can still do it!’ What is this Jackky obsession?”She further added, “You can’t cancel your whole plan with your old group because your spouse isn’t available. Jackky is an outsider in the group.
