Jose Mourinho has been accused of leaving Fenerbahce with a bill of £650,000 after staying in a five-star hotel during his time in Turkey. The legendary head coach spent 16 months with the Turkish giants, and for the majority of the time he lived in an Istanbul hotel.Mourinho has already said he regrets his time in Turkey Reports in Turkey from journalist Muge Dagistanli Erdogan now claim that the final bill is in, and it’s unclear who will pay for it.Given Mourinho was employed by Fenerbahce at the time of his stay, it is possible the club will foot the bill rather than the current Benfica boss.Mourinho’s hotel was the Four Seasons perched on the Bosphorus’ banks, which is housed inside a former 19th century Ottoman palace. The building had everything you would expect from a five-star hotel, including a spa, gym and a couple of swimming pools. He clearly enjoyed it there, as he resisted the temptation to find a flat or house during his tenure. But Mourinho has now gone, and there is an unpaid bill that needs sorting by either himself or Fenerbahce. But given he received around £7.7million from the Turkish giants after being sacked earlier this year, they could hope he’ll cover it.This was a luxurious locationGettySomeone will have to pay this billGettyTime to forgetMourinho has since admitted that his one career regret is taking on the Fenerbahce manager’s job.In an interview shortly after being appointed as Benfica boss, he said: “My career so far has been rich; I’ve coached the biggest clubs in the world, in different countries.“I made the wrong choice. Sometimes, I don’t have the right word in Portuguese. “No regrets, because regrets don’t help us at all in life, but the awareness of what we did well and what we did wrong exists.“I made a mistake going to Fenerbahce, it wasn’t my cultural level, it wasn’t my football level, it wasn’t my level. “Obviously, I gave everything until the last day. Obviously, I had to mourn, like Bruno (Lage) is doing now because nobody likes to leave.“But coaching Benfica is returning to my level, and my level is coaching the biggest clubs in the world.”Mourinho’s record at Fenerbahce was actually pretty goodMourinho didn’t achieve any success with Fenerbahce in terms of trophiesGettyAfter being sacked by Roma, Mourinho jumped at the chance to take the Fenerbahce role.Things started relatively well with progress into the third round of Champions League qualifying, only to be knocked out by Lille. That put them into the Europa League, and Fenerbahce were beaten by Rangers in a penalty shootout in the last 16.Domestically, they couldn’t live with Galatasaray, finishing 11 points behind them in the race for the title. This season started with the attempt to qualify for the Champions League only to lose 1-0 to Benfica. That proved to be the final straw as Fenerbahce missed out on the proper for UEFA’s premier competition for the second season running, and Mourinho was sacked.Ironically, he is now in charge of the team that cost him his job in the Champions League, but things aren’t going well. They are currently second-bottom in the Champions League league phase after four games, having lost every match in the group phase so far.
