Man Utd Women’s manager Marc Skinner has called on the club to make signings in the January transfer window to help the team challenge for the Women’s Super League title. The Red Devils were well beaten at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon as goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp condemned them to a 3-0 defeat. It was their second consecutive defeat in the WSL after losing to Aston Villa last weekend, dealing a huge blow to their title ambitions. They remain third in the table, seven points adrift of leaders City after nine games.Man Utd boss makes transfer demand after losing to Man CitySkinner believes United can still mount a challenge, but only if they improve the squad in the transfer market when the window re-opens.“We’ll see at the end of the season,” he told BBC Sport. “I still think you can catch them. I don’t see anything exceptional with them.“They’re very good in the front line and can punish anyone but I think you can catch them. I think we’ve got to make up a gap.“What we need to do is use the winter window to recruit the people we need to help to support this team.”Asked if he has any transfer targets in mind, Skinner responded: “For sure, I’ve got targets all the time. I think we will continue to chip away at them.“Hopefully we can bring players in who just adapt us. We need adaptation. If I could have brought that in in an earlier point then I think we could have turned the game around, even at 3-0.”Read – Power Rankings: Inter up, Manchester City charge back inSee Also – Five forgotten England internationals who need January movesFollow The Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | TikTokThe post Man Utd boss makes transfer demand after losing to ‘unexceptional’ Man City first appeared on The Football Faithful.
