So I help manage a Buy Nothing group. We have something of a network with the Buy Nothings of neighboring regions, mostly to share information good and bad, and we don't mind being fluid on our boundaries if that is what works best for our members. And sure, we've allowed people far out of the way to be in the groups because they're clearing out a house or work in the area or something. Generally speaking, these people are sure to help themselves to avoid too much inconvenience of others, and it works. Well, a few months ago, a guy from a city an hour away begged to be in the group. We let him in. In fact, he was let into multiple groups in the area because he swore up and down he could make it work despite being an hour away. Cue several whiny complaints about how no one wants to deliver an hour away. He was booted from I believe all groups.
