Two cops suspended following Bajrang Dal complaint, enquiry ordered against five

By: Express News ServiceMumbai | Updated: November 10, 2025 08:24 AM IST 2 min readFirst live-in relationship registered under Uttarakhand’s new Uniform Civil Code.The Mumbai police suspended two officials and ordered an enquiry against five officials following complaints of misbehaviour against them by Bajrang Dal activists.As per an order issued by DCP (zone IX) Dixit Gedam, “…under the jurisdiction of Oshiwara police, Bajrang Dal district convenor Shri Shankar alias Rushav Jadhav along with his 10- 15 activists came to the Oshiwara police station”. The order said that they alleged someone had misbehaved with a woman in Jogeshwari. They verbally demanded strict action against the concerned person, the order stated.A senior official talked to them and assured them that appropriate action would be taken as per the rules. However, the said activists remained inside the police station premises near the entrance, the order stated.It was alleged that five policemen shouted at them and misbehaved with them for blocking the entrance. An order issued by Mumbai police stated that the police men behaved in a manner that is “unbecoming of the police force and their behavior has tarnished the image of the police force.”The order issued by the zonal DCP to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Bandra division) mentions that in connection with the above incident, a preliminary inquiry should be conducted against Oshiwara Police Station Sub-Inspector Ramesh Kengar, Sub-Inspector Ganesh Gayke, Sub-Inspector Babu Totre, Sub-Inspector Deepak Barve and Sub-Inspector Azim Zari and a report should be submitted to the DCP zone IX office within seven days.A senior official added that two of the five officers have also been placed under suspension pending enquiry.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on InstagramTags:Mumbai
