HYDERABADA day after the Jubilee Hills Assembly byelection result was announced, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K.T. Rama Rao visited party activist Rakesh, who was injured in an attack allegedly by Congress workers on Friday (November 14, 2025) night.Condemning the attack, Mr. Rama Rao said the ruling party had resorted to ‘goondaism’ in less than 24 hours after winning the byelection. The BRS had won several byelections during its 10-year rule but had never resorted to attacks on the rival parties’ activists as the Congress did in Jubilee Hills. He along with a few party leaders including MLAs Madhavaram Krishna Rao and Padi Kaushik Reddy and the party candidate who lost the by-poll Maganti Sunitha, enquired with Mr. Rakesh about the attack and assured that the party would protect every party member. Stating that people are watching the rowdyism of Congress, he asked the ruling party to take the responsibility for the attack, at least after winning the byelection by rigging, using fake voters and distributing money on a large-scale.Mr. Rama Rao said that he would hold a meeting with the party leaders and activists of the Jubilee Hills Constituency on Tuesday. Earlier, he went to the residence of Ms. Sunitha and met her family and complimented them for putting up a brave fight against all odds.Meanwhile, former Chairman of the Telangana Foods, Mede Rajivsagar, demanded arrest of those who attacked the BRS’ Dalit-Chiristian leader and Jubilee Hills Christian Forum vice-president, Rakesh Christopher, on Friday night. He sought to know why the Dalit-Christians who supported the Congress in the byelection were not responding to the attack on the community leader.Published - November 15, 2025 05:14 pm IST
