REUTERSMaruti Suzuki India has decided to recall 39,506 units of Grand Vitara vehicle, manufactured from December 9, 2024 to April 29, 2025.“It is suspected that the fuel level indicator and warning light in the speedometer assembly in some of these vehicles may not accurately reflect the fuel status as intended,” the company said in an exchange filing. “Affected vehicle owners will receive communication from Maruti Suzuki authorised dealer workshops for inspection and replacement of the faulty part, free of cost,” Maruti said.According to the company’s monthly report, its newly introduced Victoris recorded 13,496 unit sales, surpassing the Grand Vitara, which managed 10,409 units during the same period. The company reported a strong sales performance in October, registering a 7 per cent rise in total sales at 220,894 units, compared to 206,434 units in the same month last year.Maruti Suzuki recently posted a 7 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,293 crore for the September quarter as against a net profit of Rs 3,069 crore in the July-September period of the previous fiscal year. The company’s total revenue from operations increased 13 per cent to Rs 42,101 crore in the September quarter as compared with Rs 37,203 crore in the year-ago period.Total income increased to Rs 43,014 crore for the quarter under review as compared with Rs 38,678 crore in the year-ago period. The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased 0.4 per cent to Rs 4,434 crore from Rs 4,417 crore in the year-ago period, while the margin was reported at 10.53 per cent from 11.87 per cent year-on-year. © The Indian Express Pvt Ltd
